Programme

Do I need a ticket for the re:publica programme at the New Fall Festival?

No, the re:publica programme at the NRW Forum is free of charge.

How is the programme curated?

The re:publica program in Düsseldorf is curated by the re:publica team in consultation with the New Fall Festival. In shaping the program, they consider a wide range of topics and speakers in order to create a diverse, engaging, and accessible program.

The curators review the proposals submitted in response to the Call for Participation and select those that best fit this cooperation.

We strive to present a balanced mix of established experts and emerging voices to offer a broad perspective on relevant topics.

I haven't found an answer to my (programme related) question in the FAQs. Who can I contact?

What is a "track"?

“Tracks” are overarching categories to which you can assign your submission. They help us curate a diverse and well-balanced program. However, they are not rigid boxes, but rather broad thematic frameworks.

Feel free to read through our track descriptions and see where your topic fits best. Not every topic will clearly belong to a single track. That’s why, in addition to selecting a track, you can also choose from a wide range of tags when submitting your proposal.

Will I receive a speaker fee?

We can only pay fees in selected cases and up to a certain amount. These are negotiated on an individual basis. Basically, we differentiate as follows

  • Invited speakers may, in individual cases, receive an honorarium / reimbursement for their time and expenses.
  • Unfortunately, we are unable to offer an honorarium to speakers selected through the Call for Participation.

Call for Participation

Are proposals accepted after the deadline?

No. Submissions after the deadline will not be accepted. However, there are special cases where the programme team may, at its discretion and for good reason, consider or even specifically request late submissions.

Can I use my old re:publica login?

Unfortunately you can't use your old re:publica login. You have to register & create a new profile for Düsseldorf. Please use this link: https://duesseldorf.re-publica.com/de/user/register

Do I need to organise the moderation myself?

Yes. You are responsible for organising your submission, including moderation/facilitation if your submission requires this (for example, in a panel discussion).

Do moderators need a profile?

Yes, because each profile is linked to the respective session. Please ensure that a moderator is only added to a session after prior coordination and confirmation of their availability.

How many proposals can I submit in response to the Call for Participation (CfP)?

It is important that your submission is of high quality, rather than just submitting a lot of ideas. You have the opportunity to submit ideas in different festival sections such as Conference and Off Stage. We usually aim to have each speaker appear once only per festival area.

I get a 403 Error when trying to edit my Session

If you are logged in and get a 403 Error when trying to edit your session you most likely are not the session creator, who is the only one able to access the session before it is published.
This is to prevent multiple authors from overwriting each other when editing at the same time.

I would like to submit a proposal: Do all contributors need to be confirmed?

Yes, the people you have identified for your planned session should at least be informed and invited. Contributors should also be confirmed and added to the session by the Call for Participation (CfP) deadline on 15 July 2026. Please note that each contributor needs their own account. This is especially important for panel discussions.

If you are organising a session, it is your responsibility to ensure that all contributors enter their information in their profiles and manage these themselves. Please also read the following point about the responsibilities of a contributor.

In which languages can I submit my proposal?

English or German. Important: Your submission must be written in the same language as the session.

What are my responsibilities if I submit a session that involves more than two people?

You are responsible for your submission. If you have planned a session with more than one person, you are the contact person for all questions.

  • This means that you will need to organise everything regarding the session as well as taking part in it.
  • Please absolutely ensure that all contributors have a profile.
  • You add all contributors to your submission.
  • You are responsible for passing on all relevant information to everyone involved.

What if I want to submit a proposal for someone else, such as a client?

Each person must first create an account. Only after an account has been created, a submission can be planned, for which the submitter is responsible.

If you do not want to participate in re:publica yourself, you can enter the profile information of the person who wants to present the session at re:publica. You should then pass on the login details to this person, as important information will be sent to all speakers via our system, such as preparation notes or key dates on the day of the event.

Why do I have to accept the CfP Guidelines before I can submit my proposal?

Preparing and developing a session for re:publica takes time. By submitting a proposal, you agree to follow the CfP Guidelines, which correspond to our content and formal requirements. If you are not prepared to make this commitment, it is better not to participate in the CfP.

Will all the information I provide in the CfP form be made public?

No. We need your information to evaluate and categorise your proposal. If your proposal is accepted, we will make it public. However, only the information relevant to participants will be visible. These are the title and summary of your entry and the public part of your speaker profile. Your contact details will not be published and will not be shared at any time.
